Gerlinde Sämann, soprano

Gerlinde Sämann

The blind soprano was born 1969 in Nuremberg. She studied the piano and singing at the Richard-Strauss-Conservatorium in Munich and worked with teachers such as Karl-Heinz Jarius, Henriette Meyer-Ravenstein and Selma Aykan.
Apart from that, she has completed a training in breathing therapy following Ilse Middendorf. Her repertoire spans historic works, covering song and oratorio, and reaches into the avant-garde and contemporary music theatre.
In 2000 she was awarded a grant from the county capital Munich for her artistic work.

Klaus Hemmerle, actor and director

Klaus Hemmerle

Born in 1960 and lives in Stuttgart.
Received his education at the Drama Academy in Zurich, engaged as an actor at the “Schauspielhaus” Zurich, at the “Theater der Stadt Heidelberg”, with the “Hersfelder Festspielen” and at the “Staatstheater Stuttgart”.
Since 1990 has staged works in München, Heidelberg, Lübeck, Halle, Neuss, Stuttgart, Karlsruhe, Heilbronn, Erfurt and Braunschweig.
Has been a teacher at the College of Music and Drama in Stuttgart since 1999.
Operas: Schlossfestspiele Ludwigsburg, summer 2004: "Isola disabitata" by Niccolo Jommelli. Markgrafentheater Erlangen: first performance of "Der achte Tag" a chamber opera by Eberhard Klemmstein, autumn 2006.

Susan Eitrich, Sopran

Susan Eitrich

Susan Eitrich studied with Richard Wistreich at the Institute of Early Music at the Hochschule für Musik, Trossingen. Following her diploma she continued onto the post-graduate course there, which she completed with honours. Further master classes include on historical acting with Margit Legler, vocal courses with Richard Levitt (Basle),  Emma Kirkby (London) and Jill Feldman (Italy). She is a founding member of the Peñalosa Ensemble and is a regular guest in various chamber music groups, such as Sette Voci (Peter Kooij), Capella Caesarea, Les Escapades, Gli Scarlattisti. In 2007 she was a guest soloist with Collegium Vocale Gent under Philippe Herreweghe. Her repertoire reaches from the Renaissance to contemporary music and covers not only oratorios and cantatas, but also lieder programmes. Recordings with several labels (Cornetto, Organum Classics and Harmonia Mundi), and live productions attest her work.
