Hans-Jakob Bollinger, cornett

Hans-Jakob Bollinger was born 1963 in Schaffhausen, Switzerland and studied the modern trumpet with Claude Rippas at the Music College in Zurich-Winterthur. After studying abroad for some years in Sweden and the USA, his musical interest was directed more and more towards early music. As a result of this, he studied the cornet at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Bruce Dickey, as well as the baroque trumpet with Edward H. Tarr und Jean-Francois Madeuf, and was also at the Music College in Geneva with the cornetist William Dongois.
As a cornetist, Hans-Jakob Bollinger works together with several early music ensembles in Europe. In 1998 H.-J. Bollinger founded „il desiderio“, an ensemble concentrating on the performance of music for the cornet in all its facets. His first solo CD appeared in 2005 with the label Swisspan. Hans-Jakob Bollinger has taken part in several television, radio and CD productions. He lives and teaches the cornet in Bern, Switzerland.
